See Zig Zag through the eyes of Flophouse photographer Charlie and read about his experience staying at the Zig Zag Winery accommodation.
A couple of weeks ago we gave the keys to photographer, Charlie Kinross to come and stay at our accommodation at Zig Zag Winery with his family. Charlie had been invited to share his experience with us. The brief was loose. Having worked with Charlie before, I’ve learned he has a remarkable ability to distil the essence of a place in his photographs.
We are privileged to share a selection of what Charlie and his family encountered staying at Big Vine House at Zig Zag Winery with you.
In Charlie’s words, he was: “almost constantly creatively compelled to take pictures :)” It is transfixing being there and looking out over the rolling hills. Charlie’s pictures help describe the atmosphere at this house in its magical location.
While Charlie raved about the panoramic views of the surrounding forest and vineyard, he was also pretty chuffed with the Millett Road Maker crumpets, made in the Macedon Ranges.
Millett Road Maker crumpets served with locally made preserves from Big Harvest Moon, a local permaculture farm in Springhill are provided to Flophouse guests on weekends.
Charlie enjoyed a Daylesford Gourmet box. These may be ordered on request and are complimentary for ALL guests that book in May!
Charlie’s son enjoyed his crumpets and the views for miles. Kids barely take out their iPads here, the house and surroundings are so captivating.
We loved not just the house and the location but the way it is decorated, the art on the walls, the furniture, the toy room for the kids, the crockery, all of it. And that fire pit area looking over the valley is my new happy place. 🙂

“If you could please pass on to the owners that we truly loved their home. We had a favourite holiday home in New Zealand in 2016 that nothing has come close to but the Big Vine house is our new favourite.”

The Caboose is an excellent romantic escape for couples or a solo retreat for writing and relaxing.
