Wine Folk Membership

Welcome to Wine Folk, for Kind Folk.

We will send you wine-maker selected Zig Zag Rd. and Kind Folk wines to your door every season. Our wines are low fi, elegant and award winning. Aromatic whites, cloudy roses, light reds, natural pet nats and celebratory bubbles, made kindly from estate grapes at the Zig Zag Rd. winery. And a few wines with grapes sourced from other wonderful Victorian vineyards. See here for our wines on offer right now.

We also invite our members to get involved with the story behind their wine. To get their hands and heart into the soil, learn about wine making and grape growing, and share in the adventure with owners and vignerons Henry and Harriet Churchill at Zig Zag Rd. wines, just over an hour north of Melbourne. Whilst the membership’s value is based on wine to your door every season, for those people wanting to get involved, the door is open.

Here are the tiers and benefits of the memberships. Click on the benefit to learn more about it.

Seasonal wine to your door

Winemakers and owners, Henry and Harriet, will hand pick Zig Zag Rd. and Kind Folk wines at the beginning of spring, summer, autumn and winter, with full winemaking and grape growing notes, and send them to your doorstep. They’ll be appropriate for the season ahead, so expect springtime sparkling rose and pet nat, and heavier reds and whites through the colder months. Click here to see all our wines, and here to see the style of winemaking and wine, to get a sense of what you’ll receive.

Postage is included to all metropolitan/urban areas in Australia, and most of regional Victoria. Get in touch if you’re unsure if you’ll be included on the free postage.

Invites to special events

Welcome to our 10 acre vineyard and winery, just over an hour North of Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges.

You’ll be invited to a number of events and activities at the vineyard throughout your time as a member. This may typically look like (this is given as an example only, as events and activities change from year to year):

  • Taste the new wines in autumn: come and see us during vintage (the wine making season usually in March and April) and taste some of the wines we’re making from the tank and barrel, get a tour of the vineyard and winery, and hear from Henry and Harriet about the season went (warts and all).
  • Summertime Fling: wine and live music, with a special tasting bar, in the vines throughout January. Relaxing and very lovely. It’s a ticketed event, but we invite our members to come for free.
  • Barrel tasting in the summer: come and taste our maturing wine direct from the barrel, which typically happens in January/February before we put into the bottle.

There will be plenty of other things going on up here, and we’ll make sure you’re in the loop and have an opportunity to attend.

Invites to working bees throughout the year

Working bees are a wonderful way to get to know like hearted wine folk, get out of the city and get your hands and heart into the soil.

As a Wine Folk member, you’ll be invited to working bees, which you can accept or decline as you wish.

To give a flavour of the work, think picking grapes in the autumn,; de-suckering spring, and canopy management in the summer.

We’ll provide all the training, biosecurity, equipment and skills you need. And a glass or two of wine at the end of the day.

Rhythm of the year at Zig Zag Rd. poster

We’ll send your A3 poster with your first set of wines.
