In it together
The gorgeous wines of Zig Zag Rd and Kind Folk couldn’t be made without the help of our utterly incredible community of friends who help us grow our grapes and make our wine come rain or shine. We call it Farm-Share which is definitely a working title at the moment. But it’s a philosophy we all sign up to about co-stewarding the land, and co-creating beautiful things (mostly wine). We think we need to learn to be less individualistic and start being more collaborative. We’re better together, we were built that way, our ancestors knew it and somehow we’ve forgotten it along the way.
And so we’re trying to slow down. Grow grapes slowly, with smaller yields but better quality. Spend time reinvigorating the soil slowly over years rather than with fertiliser applications. Make wine slowly fermented with wild yeasts rather than using yeast from a lab. Spend more time breathing it in and less time worrying about what’s next. Frankly we are no way near really slowing down, but we love being part of the conversation in our community that is asking how do we start to soak it up.
So we are starting to have more conversations, more vulnerable, bigger-than-us conversations whilst we make and taste wine and we would love for you to join us.
