Notes of: Heart strings, soggy bottoms and my wife’s old face

100% old vine (vines ages 52 years), sourced from the north facing slope at the Zig Zag Rd. vineyard. 30% merlot, 70% cabernet sauvignon, destemmed and matured in seasoned oak barrels.

This has a wonderful balance of richness and tannin: plenty of complexity and character, but still supple and elegant. It shows off what the Macedon Ranges can do with these varietals, creating a unique wine of place.
