CELLAR DOOR

We are happy to say we are open again for tastings, Thursday – Monday, 11am – 5pm!

As we have limited space, and weekends can be very busy, please contact us on (03) 5423 9390 in advance and leave a message with your best contact number and we can book you in.

We’re open Thursday – Monday from 11am to 5pm

And we’re open most public holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Day.

Taste our hand-crafted cool climate whites, reds, sparkling and Pet Nats at the Cellar Door, or enjoy a glass on our stunning veranda overlooking the vineyard and the eucalyptus forest beyond.

Tastings

Tastings change each new vintage and depending on availability.

Tasting is free, unless you’re a larger group. If you’re a group of more than 5 please call in advance.

Please be aware we are strictly implementing Covid-19 restrictions.

Recognition

Our boutique cellar door won Best Small Cellar Door in 2017.

BYO Picnic

We don’t currently offer any food or coffee, but our customers are so welcome to bring a picnic to have on the deck in warmer weather, or something hot on those chilly days to enjoy cozied up by the fire inside. Please note that during the Covid-19 restriction period we will be limiting the seating time to an hour per small group.

We are a family and so we are kid friendly

Zig Zag Rd is a working farm so please take care, but come along with your little folk so they can taste a little bit of farm life as you taste our wines.

Dogs are welcome too!

Just please bring a lead, it just keeps everyone safe if your dog is on a lead at all times.

Parking

We have a small car park right next to the cellar door that is on roadbase (so is a bit gravelly). However please note we have limited parking options at the moment, and none of it is under cover or in the shade so please call ahead to ensure we can fit you in.

Getting here

Please note:

  • When you are arriving at Zig Zag Rd. wines, there is a vineyard next to us, called Basalt Ridge with a big yellow winery sign – that is not us! We are the driveway after that, with the Zig Zag Rd. sign outside. Sorry it is a little confusing.
  • Google Maps error: sometimes when people insert Zig Zag Rd wines into google maps it takes them down a road called Queens Lane – do not go down it in any weather! It is just okay in summer, if you have a 4WD, but we strongly urge you go along the Daylesford-Malmsbury Road then down Zig Zag Road.

By Car:

From Daylesford – Follow the Daylesford-Malmsbury road, and take a left onto Zig Zag Road. before you get into the Malmsbury area. If you get to a railway bridge you have gone too far! Once on Zig Zag Road, follow it until you see a vineyard on the left. We are the SECOND driveway on the left, not Basalt Ridge wines.

From Kyneton (or Melbourne) – Head to Malmsbury on the M79 and once there go through and exit the village up the hill towards Taradale. Take a left before you get to the top of the hill, onto the Daylesford-Malmsbury Road, towards the train station. Go over a railway line bridge and head towards Daylesford. After a couple of KM, there will be a right turn onto Zig Zag Road. Once on Zig Zag Road, follow it until you see a vineyard on the left. We are the SECOND driveway on the left, not Basalt Ridge wines.

By Train:

There is a VLine train station in Malmsbury (direct from Melbourne) which is approx. 5km from Zig Zag Rd Wines.
